Green Valley Falls Wrap Up

Posted on 05 July 2010

This is one of the rare hikes and is protected by the City of Vallejo Water district. The only access is ordering tickets through the Bay Area Ridge Council. The cost is approximately $20 and the attendees are limited to 30 people.

Due to the limited access, the trails are overgrown; however, this is a fabulous treasure right in our own backyard. We met and the Ranger was diligent in confirming those that signed up with the council.

The trail itself is easy to transverse and the lower falls had very little water. There were lovely streams throughout the trail. It was magical to travel up to the upper falls. There was a serene pond at the base of the falls and lush growth caressing the cavern surrounding the falls. This is truly a treasure in our county. Space is always limited, so check with the Bay Area Ridge Council (in our link section) for calendared events. It was a real treat to see this beauty hidden in Solano County.
