Lake Solano – Possum Hollow Trail

Posted on 27 February 2011

Lake Solano is abundant with activity. There are relaxing and comfortable hikes, campground, fishing, playground and water recreation. These are wonderful activities, and yet, this beautiful park is teeming with historical significance with the Patwin Indians, wildlife and botanical preservation, and an emerging Nature Center to enhance our experience with nature.

Our water supplies, and those for the local crops that we enjoy, are tied to the watershed created by the hills around this park. The Possum Hollow Trail is a shoreline trail that is short and easy to navigate. Strollers and wheelchairs would not have much difficulty on this trail; however, it might be bumpy. It is adjacent to the Nature Center and a fantastic way to introduce people to this natural treasure. As you walk along the shoreline, the array of wildlife in the lake is majestic.
